Hungarian economy

Did you know that..

Hungary is located in the middle of Europe and is the 13th largest country in the EU with a population of around 9.7 million. E-commerce is growing steadily, but it has not yet become so widespread and established. Competition in online commerce is much lower in Hungary than in other EU countries, for example. This in turn opens up new opportunities for companies.Like many markets, the Hungarian market has its peculiarities: For one, the country has its own currency. Payment is not made in euros but in Forint. The sales tax rate of 27% is the highest in the EU.

Online comparison portals such as argep.hu and arukereso.hu are often used for online shopping. In general, Hungarians like to pay cash: a quarter of online orders are paid for in cash on delivery.Another characteristic is low foreign language skills in the country. More than half of Hungarians say they do not speak a foreign language. This makes it all the more important to work with market experts and native speakers who can help you expand online.
